This error occurs when installing or upgrading to September 2017 release of NPrintingr. The installation or upgrade failure results in a rollback to the previously installed version of NPrinting or simply fails to install NPrinting.
Environment:
Qlik NPrinting ver. 2017 track
NPrinting 17.5 or higher requires the installation of .NET 4.6.2. and prerequisite KB 2919355
- The .NET 4.6.2 installation is normally done by the NPrinting installation/upgrade process.
- Microsoft KB 2919355 is a prerequisite to installing .NET 4.6.2.
- Thus if Microsoft KB 2919355 is not present at the time of the NPrinting September release upgrade, the .NET package for .NET 4.6.2 required in this release will fail to install. - A log file with the following name will appear in the user temp folder for the user account which attempted the upgrade which will verify this issue:
- dd_NDP462-KB3151800-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU_decompression_log
- Found in: c:\users\npsvcaccount\appdata\local\temp
- If your NPrinting server does not have internet access, then you will need to manually install the .NET 4.6.2 framework prior to upgrading via https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/3151800/the--net-framework-4-6-2-offline-installer-for-wind...
- Rollback can also be caused by low/insufficient disk space on the NPrinting server computer.
Resolution:
*Please note that as a precaution it is advisable to back up your NP server database before performing major maintenance operations on your NP server.*

or simply run the NPrinting September 2017 installer again which will install the .NET 4.6.2 framework but your NP server must have access to the internet to complete this action.
3. After installing .NET 4.6.2 Framework, please ensure to reboot the server otherwise the NPrinting installer will not be able to detect it.
4. Update your Windows Server with the latest windows updates
