How to configure Microsoft Teams as Channel for Qlik Insight Bot

Qlik Insight Bot is an exclusively built chatbot to which a user can have an insightful conversation regarding his/her data assets, on recognized chat platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business Online etc. In order to have a conversation with Qlik Insight Bot, there are several configurations that must be done. For most channels, you must provide channel configuration information to run your bot on the channel. The purpose of this document is to guide you on how to configure channels with Azure and Microsoft Teams.


For configuring channels specifically MS Teams, please download the official Configuring Channels documentation found on the Qlik Online Help for Insight Bot. The MS Teams information can be found on page 14-23.

Additionally, for MS Teams more steps need to be followed for Azure. See the official Creating Bot in Azure for details.

The bot created in Azure establishes a channel between the user and Qlik Insight Bot services i.e. any communication happens between the user and Qlik Insight Bot will be by means of bot created in Azure. It is required to create a bot in Azure If Microsoft Teams is to be used as a messaging platform. Skip this document if you are going to use the messaging platform(s) other than these.
